(Morans Wood Components) 2015 to Present – At Moran’s I have numerous roles here but the primary is a product designer. Designing products from conception in rough sketches to scaled 3D visuals for sales and production use. I am tasked with making appealing CGI products which look as realistic as possible for use as sales aids. However I also create models with our construction methods in mind, as at the company I also use Coreldraw to produce scaled “Production Specification” sheets. These Production sheets are sent to the factory floor to progress all our orders to final finished products.
As a company constantly working on bespoke projects, I am also tasked with the companies product photography and implementation into our website and online promotions. I maintain and run the companies Google Adwords and Pinterest Campaigns also ensuring driven traffic. After initially designing and building the companies WordPress website in 2016, I maintain and update it in line with current SEO practices. I ensure that traffic is driven and converted through our online channels and increase organic search results for the company website. By keeping appraised of necessary standards in online content creation and creating engaging online content, I ensure that the numbers of enquiries in our primary sectors are constantly increasing and that business is forthcoming.
In early 2017 the company purchased a Yotta Large Format UV printer which has a print head that can be lifted up to 340mm above substrate (the first of its kind in the United Kingdom). I was given primary responsibility for the running and maintenance of this new printer which can print directly onto a multitude of substrates including various types of wood, glass, tile and material. I was tasked with expanding our various product sectors with new and imaginative product designs using this large format printer.
