(Morans Wood Components) 2015 to 2020 – At Moran’s I had numerous roles, but the primary was a product designer. Designing products from conception in rough sketches to scaled 3D visuals for sales and production use. I was tasked with making appealing CGI products which look as realistic as possible for use as sales aids. However I also created the models with Moran’s construction methods in mind, at the company I also used Coreldraw to produce scaled “Production Specification” sheets. These Production sheets were sent to the factory floor to progress all our orders to final finished products.
As a company constantly working on bespoke projects, I was also tasked with the companies product photography and its implementation into the website and online promotions. I maintained and ran the companies Google Adwords and Pinterest Campaigns, ensuring driven traffic to the company website. After initially designing and building the companies WordPress website in 2016, I was then tasked with maintaining and updating it, in line with current SEO practices. I would ensure that traffic was driven and converted through our online channels. By keeping appraised of necessary standards in online content creation and creating engaging online content, I ensured that the numbers of enquiries in our primary sectors were constantly increased and that business was forthcoming.
In early 2017 the company purchased a Yotta Large Format UV printer which had a print head that could be lifted up to 340mm above substrate (the first of its kind in the United Kingdom). I was given primary responsibility for the running and maintenance of this new printer which could print directly onto a multitude of substrates including various types of wood, glass, tile and materials. I was tasked with expanding our various product sectors with new and imaginative product designs using this large format printer.
