Employment

3D, Web & Graphic Designer

(C360 Media) 2020 to Current – Whilst applying for jobs in the middle of the pandemic and prior to starting work with PCS, I was tasked by Karen and Glyn at C360 Media a marketing agency based in the Northwest of England to create a 3D visual to help develop and market a unique marketing platform. Working remotely from home I worked on the Bistro and Casual Dining 3D elements, I was then tasked with building them a website. Since 2020 Ive worked on numerous presentations for them from printed and digital documents to video presentations. Sucessfully helping them to win substantial contracts with the Manchester Airport Group, Frasers Group and Euro Garages Group. I did this work in the evenings and at weekends, whilst holding down a 40 hour a week job with Polyfab Coatings and Systems. I am not adverse to hard work and look forward to creative projects !

3D, Web & Graphic Designer

(PolyFab Coatings and Systems) 2020 to 2022 – At PCS I was given the task of revising the companies website. I ran a small budget GoogleAd campaign to establish core keywords for the site and built an SEO optimsed site around this data. This included generating new imagery via Adobe Stock Images and photoshopping 3D elements into those shots. As well as creating some technical and 3D images from scratch. PCS had a numerous amount of Datasheets for their individual products and I was tasked with updating and editing these sheets for implementation into the website. I created instructional videos for fitting and construction of their products as well as interactive slideshows implemented into the company website. I revised all their brochures and their installation documentation and again implemented these into the site as well as procurement of printed documents and POS elements, dispensers and Pop up stands.

Product Designer, Web Designer and Print Operator

(Morans Wood Components) 2015 to 2020 – At Moran’s I had numerous roles,  but the primary was a product designer. Designing products from conception in rough sketches to scaled 3D visuals for sales and production use. I was tasked with making appealing CGI products which look as realistic as possible for use as sales aids. However I also created the models with Moran’s construction methods in mind, at the company I also used Coreldraw to produce scaled “Production Specification” sheets. These Production sheets were sent to the factory floor to progress all our orders to final finished products.

As a company constantly working on bespoke projects, I was also tasked with the companies product photography and its implementation into the website and online promotions. I maintained and ran the companies Google Adwords and Pinterest Campaigns, ensuring driven traffic to the company website. After initially designing and building the companies WordPress website in 2016, I was then tasked with maintaining and updating it, in line with current SEO practices. I would ensure that traffic was driven and converted through our online channels. By keeping appraised of necessary standards in online content creation and creating engaging online content, I ensured that the numbers of enquiries in our primary sectors were constantly increased and that business was forthcoming.

In early 2017 the company purchased a Yotta Large Format UV printer which had a print head that could be lifted up to 340mm above substrate (the first of its kind in the United Kingdom). I was given primary responsibility for the running and maintenance of this new printer which could print directly onto a multitude of substrates including various types of wood, glass, tile and materials. I was tasked with expanding our various product sectors with new and imaginative product designs using this large format printer.

Graphic Designer, IT Assistant, Tele Sales and Order fulfilment

(Jones Window Systems) 2009 to 2015 – Working at Jones Window Systems I was tasked with website development and enquiry generation online. Using the WordPress CMS I created numerous websites all interlinked and SEO optimised. This included all photography visiting installations and creating informative and engaging Videos. I was tasked with all of the print generation for the company including leaflets, brochures, internal sales and order documents for production and processing and dealing with all aspects of design and print procurement. Within the subsidiary companies “Online Trade and Supply” website I also generated promotional imagery and dealt with telephone sales and order fulfilment.

Internet Cafe Proprietor & Web Design

(Netport Cafe & Blue Star Design) 2000 to 2004 – Having purchased and rented a commercial property in St Helen’s for a number of years I decided to use this commercial property to open an “Internet Cafe”. The cafe ran and held multiplayer PC and console gaming for children in the local area and with a large internet connection this allowed the cafe to join a circuit of 30 or so other gaming centres within the IGUK leagues. These UK based leagues were used to generate UK finalists for the International LAN gaming competitions and competitors were sent to international venues to compete.

The cafe also retailed computer games and gaming consoles and I employed my graphic design skills with the IGUK team for promotional work as they were becoming heavily sponsored by game producing software companies like Ubisoft and EA. These types of companies sent promotional materials and free software to the centres as well as allowing us a small budget to promote our centres within Games Magazines.

Sales Manager's Assistant

(St Helens Glass) 1990 to 1993 – I worked for my families “Home Improvement” company as a Sales Manager’s Assistant for the Merseyside Area. I was tasked with ensuring that employed sales staff were attending our promotional venues throughout the region and promoting the company as required. I was also given the role of overseeing the production of all our promotional material and sales equipment including Van Liveries, production of sales equipment, sales promotion stands and all print literature. Here I became interested in photography and dealt with numerous photographers who would generate our sales photography.
